Partha Sengupta





Partha is a documentary photographer and activist. He has begun his photography career as a Press Photographer with a newspaper Somoy in 2012. In 2014, he had moved to Dhaka, Bangladesh to study documentary photography at Counter Foto.  Later he became a faculty member at Counter Foto in Dhaka and continued till July 2018. Partha received a grant from Serendipity Arts Foundation to further develop his work on the project ‘Bhumiputra’ and  The Bloodiest Border was shortlisted in the EPF by Burn Magazine. His work published in PIX Magazine, Burn Magazine, Dihsabhimani (Malayalam) and in  Azhimukham (online) and exhibited in the Serendipity Arts Festival, Goa and  Subaltern Art Festival at Kozhikode, Kerala.


Partha is working on a long-term photography project since 2014 on India’s ‘Partition Story’ based on unresolved issues of the partition of 1947.  His images have been exhibited at Kozhikode, Dhaka, Cologne, Montreal, Delhi, Kolkata, and at Panaji, Goa. 


Partha did his graduation and post-graduation in Finance from The University of Calcutta. He holds a diploma in System Design & Analysis. He began his professional career in Finance with India’s leading private financial institutions and worked for nearly eleven years.
